This design has a very simple goal: “Make making music fun”. There are thousands of existing musical instruments, effect modules and other tools designed to aide music production, each with a unique and characteristic sound. None of these products focus on the aspects of creativity that bring joy to the user, most of the time they are only necessary to achieve the end goal of finishing a song or recording. A finished song is often the destination, but the joy is usually in the journey when the artist is exploring, experimenting, and playing around with their composition.

The EZ rocker functions as a Digital Audio Workstation with expressive, physical interfaces allowing solo or collaborative play. Each interaction is designed to be intuitive and fun, emulating the gestures required for traditional instruments. Sound output is programmed to avoid tonal dissonance with each instrument being transposed to the same scale. Essentially, it is guaranteed to sound good out-the-box, regardless of previous musical experience (or lack thereof).
