Nova Ferments
Improved domestic fermentation
Designed by Ali Ball
Stackable fermentation vessels with a reliable valve system and porous ceramic body. Research shows that foods fermented in ceramic fermentation vessels have microbial colonies that are more diverse and abundant, as well as producing better texture and flavor profiles than their glass, metal, and plastic alternatives.
Nova Ferments aims to combine the benefits of ceramic crocks with a simple, easy to use design, with an improved water valve and a compact, stackable design. The water valve is transparent for easy monitoring and reduces evaporation and the need to refill as often, whilst keeping environmental contaminants out. The vessel valve/lid is completely removable, allowing full access to the inside and easy cleaning of all the parts, and the design is cuboid and stackable for easy storage. The ceramic body incorporates 50% coffee waste in the manufacturing process, resulting in a porous ceramic that repurposes waste from landfill, reduces the weight of the vessel and halves the amount of clay required.
