sidekick
Many children can spend their time in hospital immobilised in bed, forced to lie flat on their backs for several days, weeks or even months at a time, unable to do much more than stare at the ceiling. Although play is an integral part of a child’s recovery, these patients have an incredibly limited access to such activities which significantly affects their quality of life.
sidekick is an overbed hospital table designed specifically for use in paediatric wards. It is split into two table tops, the larger of which can be raised and rotated to reveal an activity surface on the underside. This contains interchangeable boards with different surfaces facilitating a range of play activities. The product is suitable for patients of all ages and physical capabilities proposing a new approach to hospital furniture, designed with children in mind.
